WCOA Chaplains minister to the religious needs of the staff members of an appointed organization as well as the people it serves. If you have a love for people and feel like God has a calling on your life, and naturally reach out to others during emergencies or crises or feel the desire to help others strengthen their faith, becoming a WCOA chaplain could be a great career choice for you. 

Chaplains are theologically educated ministers.  They begin by earning a bachelor's degree in biblical studies or religious studies. Courses focus on church history, biblical worldviews, counseling, and critical thinking. Upon receipt, Clinical pastoral internship certification, followed up by a Pastoral residency at an accredited Hospital or institution is also needed. To become a Chaplain you will need to be ordained as  a clergy member in a particular faith, i.e., Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism or other religious traditions. 

Average Chaplain Salary -Pay scale

The average salary of a chaplain will vary depending on where and the hours he or she works.  The average salary of a chaplain is $48,508 per year. The top 10 percent of all chaplains earn over $86, 970 per year, while the bottom 10 percent earn less than $26,810 annually.
